At The Health Suite, we offer a baby massage course to help you bond and have fun with your baby
Baby massage involves gently stroking each part of your baby’s body in a calm and reassuring way.
It is dedicated time with your baby which can be very soothing for you both.
Baby massage can also help the bonding process through the release of the 'love' hormone oxytocin, normally released through snuggles and social bonding.
Benefits of baby massage
Massaging your baby is a great way to show your baby they are loved and help them feel secure.
The list of benefits of baby massage are endless, some of which include:
- Helping you to bond and interact with your baby
- Encouraging your baby to relax and sleep
- Soothing your baby if they are suffering from colic
- Helping to relieve the symptoms of teething, wind and constipation
The aim of this course
The aim of the course is to teach you how to massage your baby and you will be guided through the various different strokes each week to help you bond and have fun with your baby.
You will be shown ways you can reduce colic, improve digestion and promote deeper sleep and so much more.
These classes are there to provide support for mums and dads too.
Having a baby can be a very anxious and emotional time. You will have some time for yourself to enjoy a cup of tea or cold drink along with some yummy treats.
This is a great time for you to sit back, share advice and support from other parents, and develop new friendships.
About the course
The full course runs for six weeks. It is recommended that you and your baby attend all sessions to maximise the benefits.
The classes are very relaxed and are ‘baby-led’ – so you do not need to worry about your baby crying or needing a feed or change. You will be able to attend to your baby in a relaxed and comfortable environment.
Also included in the course is a bottle of organic massage oil as well as a full set of handouts for you to refer to at home. You will need to bring your own towel for baby to be placed on.
This is a five-session course.
