Tai Chi can bring many benefits, both physical and psychological. Improvements in pain, strength, balance, mobility and immune system function are just a few of the physical benefits.

From a psychological perspective, it can help with stress, encouraging presence and awareness. It provides an opportunity for quiet, meditative movement, and brings an improved sense of wellbeing.

Treatment

At The Health Suite, we offer a six-week course (one hour per week) in which you will be introduced to the practice of Tai Chi.

During the course, you will learn a routine (known as a form) as well as experience Qigong exercises incorporating the use of breath.

Sessions are relaxed and informal, and are be tailored to participants’ abilities.

Tai Chi is usually practised standing, but if necessary can be carried out sitting. In terms of exertion, it is similar to walking.

 

We also runs six-week courses suitable for those who have attended the introduction to Tai Chi course, and who wish to continue to learn Tai Chi.

In addition, we offer an hour-long one to one taster sessions, suitable for anyone who has no experience of Tai Chi. These taster sessions are a good opportunity for those who would like to experience Tai Chi before committing to a six-week course.

When attending sessions, please wear comfortable clothing, and flat, closed-in footwear.
