About
Each and every pregnancy is unique, just as each and every birth is.
This six-week therapeutic yoga course for pregnancy will facilitate a safe space for you to nurture and nourish yourself and your growing baby – whilst preparing physically, mentally and emotionally for birth and beyond.
Treatment
You will learn to enjoy your ever-expanding body through:
- Breath-centred yoga postures for physical strength, stamina and mobility
- Breathing techniques for pregnancy and use during labour
- Pelvic-floor visualisations – these strengthening exercises help to familiarise you with the sensation of contracting and releasing
- Positive visualisations that you may find useful during labour
- Deep relaxation to recharge and rejuvenate
The course is an opportunity to share and gain mutual support from other mums-to-be.
Sessions can be attended from 14 weeks onwards if a scan has confirmed your pregnancy is proceeding normally.
This therapy is delivered by Zoe Martin. Aside from her own personal experience of pregnancy and birth, Zoë has trained extensively as a yoga therapist and in Yoga for Pregnancy with Uma Dinsmore-Tuli, author of Mothers Breath and Teach Yourself Yoga for Pregnancy and Birth.
