Tests Included:

Blood and Urine Tests

Blood Testing: 103 Blood Tests Covering Key areas of: Blood count, liver, kidney, diabetes, heart, bone, iron, thyroid and inflammation levels.

Regular blood tests are crucial components of an overall health check, providing invaluable insights into an individual’s well-being.

A full blood count (FBC) offers a broad view of your overall health by measuring different components of your blood such as red and white blood cells and platelets, which can indicate conditions like anaemia, infections, and other diseases.

Liver function tests help identify potential damage or disease in the liver, an organ essential for digestion, blood clotting, and detoxification, kidney function tests like creatinine and blood urea nitrogen (BUN) levels can reveal renal health, crucial for waste and toxin removal.

Diabetes tests, such as HbA1c, indicate blood sugar levels over the past few months, enabling early detection and management of diabetes. Heart-related blood tests can signal cardiovascular issues, such as elevated cholesterol levels which might increase the risk of heart disease.

Bone marker tests can assess bone metabolism and highlight the risk of osteoporosis. Iron tests identify conditions like iron deficiency anaemia or hemochromatosis, impacting energy levels and overall metabolic health.

Thyroid tests evaluate how well your thyroid is working and can help detect hyperthyroidism (overactive) or hypothyroidism (underactive), both affecting your body’s metabolic rate.

Lastly, inflammation markers like C-reactive protein (CRP) can signal systemic inflammation, which may be linked to autoimmune disorders or other chronic diseases. By monitoring these parameters, health checks can help prevent or manage potential health issues before they become serious.

12 Lead Electrocardiogram (ECG)

The ECG is a non-invasive and painless test that provides valuable insights into the health of your heart.

By recording the electrical signals in your heart, it can help identify patterns that suggest various cardiac conditions. These conditions could include arrhythmias (irregular heartbeats), coronary artery disease (blocked or narrowed arteries in your heart), previous heart attacks or ongoing heart conditions.

By identifying these issues early, treatment can begin promptly, improving the prognosis and potentially preventing further heart problems. This simple yet effective test is a crucial part of preventive healthcare, helping protect one of your body’s most vital organs.

You will receive a separate report with more details of your ECG recording.

Spirometry

Spirometry is a common, non-invasive test used to measure how well your lungs are functioning. It works by measuring how much air you inhale, how much you exhale, and how quickly you exhale. During the test, you’ll be asked to take a deep breath and then exhale as forcefully as you can into a device called a spirometer. The test is often repeated several times to ensure consistent results.

Spirometry is key in diagnosing and monitoring lung conditions such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and other conditions that can cause breathlessness. It can detect these conditions early, allowing for more effective treatment. Additionally, it can help your healthcare provider understand the severity of your lung condition, guide appropriate treatment decisions, and monitor any changes or improvements over time. By including spirometry in your health check, you’re taking a proactive step in caring for your lung health.

Body Composition Scan

High-Quality Body Composition Device: The InBody 970 is a high-quality body composition device designed for medical and fitness professionals. It provides a wealth of information across multiple result sheets, allowing for the monitoring of health over time, gathering of in-depth research data, and delivery of evidence-based insights1.

The device sends low-level electrical currents through the body. Because these currents travel more quickly through water (which is present in muscle) and more slowly through fat, the speed of the current can provide a measure of body composition.

Direct Segmental Measurements: This device uses Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA) technology to provide accurate, precise measurements for each segment of your body. It can output custom information showing your body’s muscle sufficiency percentage and how your body composition compares to others of the same height and gender.

Comprehensive Results: The InBody 970 gives comprehensive results across various categories including body composition, body water, evaluation, research, and comparison, among others. This can help in understanding the current state of your body and creating a foundation for long-term health.
Scans can be repeated over time to show progress with results saved to your phone for comparison

Ultrasound Abdomen

An abdominal ultrasound enhances the ability of the health check to provide a complete picture of your internal health. This non-invasive procedure allows us to visualize the structures within your abdomen – including the liver, gallbladder, spleen, pancreas, kidneys, and bladder – in real time and without radiation exposure. We can identify a range of potential health issues, from gallstones and kidney cysts to tumours and aneurysms. Furthermore, an abdominal ultrasound can monitor changes over time, offering invaluable information for managing ongoing health conditions. By choosing a health assessment that includes an abdominal ultrasound, you’re investing in a proactive approach to your health, ensuring early detection and intervention for a variety of potential health concerns

Nurse Assessment

During a nurse-led assessment for a health check, several aspects of your health will be checked:

Physical History: The nurse will ask about your current physical health, lifestyle habits (including exercise, diet, alcohol consumption, smoking), and any symptoms or discomfort you may be experiencing.
Medical History: This includes past diagnoses, surgeries, hospitalizations, allergies, medications (both prescription and over-the-counter) and any chronic diseases or conditions.
Family History: The nurse will gather information about the health history of immediate family members, including parents, siblings, and children. This can help identify potential genetic risks for diseases such as cancer, heart disease, diabetes, and certain genetic disorders.
Social History: This part of the assessment focuses on the patient’s living conditions, occupational history, social relationships, and mental health. It could also cover issues such as stress levels, sleep patterns, and any use of recreational drugs.
Physiological Measurements: The nurse will take various measurements, including height, weight, body mass index (BMI), blood pressure, pulse rate, and oxygen saturation. In some cases, other assessments such as heart rate variability, temperature, and respiratory rate might also be taken.

Private GP giving a consultation

The Advanced health check extends the time with the doctor to 60 minutes. The Doctor will review all the results from your health check, which will be explained in a clear, easy-to-understand manner. The doctor will first address your overall health status based on the results, then move on to specific tests and their findings.

The discussion will include an overview of your blood tests, ECG, spirometry and body composition. The doctor will explain the significance of each value, how it compares to normal ranges, and what it means for your health. Any abnormalities or areas of concern will be highlighted and discussed in detail.

Additional time allows not only a review of the results but a greater opportunity to discuss your health goals, concerns, and any symptoms you’ve been experiencing. Your doctor will provide advice and potential lifestyle changes to maintain or improve your health, based on your results.

If necessary, further investigations may be suggested, or referrals to specialists may be made. This is also the perfect time to ask questions and ensure you understand all the information presented to you. Remember, this is your health journey and the aim is to ensure that you feel informed, heard, and reassured.

This package includes comprehensive tests like platinum blood profiles, DNA SNP genomics, and advanced cancer screenings. Enjoy personalised consultations with functional medicine experts and nutritionists, continuous follow-up support, and extensive metabolic and fitness evaluations.
