Jags Patel

Art Therapist

Jags Patel is a qualified and experienced Art Therapist. She is registered with the Health and Care Professional Council and approved by the British Association of Art Therapy as a private practitioner.

Driven by a commitment to create and sustain consistent, safe, and fully trusting relationships, Jags’ philosophy towards work is to listen with empathy and a complete lack of judgement. Key areas of work include Attachment, Trauma, Loss, Anxiety, Fostering, Domestic Violence and Autism.

Enabling an environment in which all clients can explore and express themselves openly, Jags uses art as a non-verbal medium to enable communication and self-exploration. Her Psychotherapy practices include integrated attachment-based Psychoeducation, Lego therapy, Life story work, Supervision and Dyadic, Parent–Child Art Therapy. Images created within the space are respected and not interpreted or analysed, but instead used to help uncover the meaning of the image for the client, allowing personal growth and developing a stronger sense of self.

The central goal to this person-centered approach is to respond to the client with the utmost respect and flexibility whilst conducting therapy, underpinned by psychodynamic principles. Developing and containing therapeutic relationships is fundamental and thorough consideration is paid to both conscious and unconscious processes.

Jags has been commended for her extraordinary commitment to understanding the world as the client perceives it and enabling a completely transparent, trusting, and supportive environment.
