Copper Coil – Intra-Uterine Device IUD

About
Some women prefer to opt for a non-hormonal form of contraception.
A copper coil – also known as an Intra-Uterine Device or IUD – consists of a small T-shaped plastic device that is inserted into the uterus.
It can be left in place for five years or more.
This type of coil can also be used for emergency contraception up to five days after unprotected sexual intercourse.
Treatment
If you are not sure which is the right contraceptive method for you, you can book an initial contraception consultation. Together with our nurse specialist, you can decide if this coil is best suited to your preferences and needs.
We will provide follow-up to ensure you are happy with your chosen method.
If you feel the copper coil is the right choice for you, you will also have the opportunity to extend the appointment to include fitting the coil (there is an additional charge for this).
If you already know that the copper coil is what you would like, you can directly book an appointment for coil fitting below.
For coil removal, or coil removal and re-fit you can book here.
