Thai Body Massage
At The Health Suite, we offer Thai massage run by qualified and professional massage therapists
The Thai massage technique focuses on energy lines that pass through the body named ‘sen’.
It is thought that when these energy lines become blocked they can have negative side effects on the body.
Working on energy lines allows for the correction of blockages, deficiencies and imbalances in the flow of energy throughout the body, which is believed to improve an individual’s overall health.
Traditional Thai massage is performed with clothes on. These clothes should be comfortable and loose-fitting, consisting preferably of natural fabrics.
It entails stretches, pulling and rocking movements. Similar to shiatsu massage but does not include acupressure points.
Traditionally Thai massage is always done on the floor, but elements of the practice are being effectively adapted to be as effective on a treatment couch. Your practitioner will decide whether the floor or treatment couch is best for you.

Pre and post massage advice
In order to have more energy in the body available for the work, and since an important part of the treatment may involve pressing points around the abdomen, it is better not to eat for at least one hour before the session.
To allow the process to continue, after the session, it is better not to eat, bathe or do strenuous exercise for at least an hour afterwards.
Drinking lots of warm water or hot tea is highly beneficial and necessary to flush out toxins that may have been released during the treatment.
