Inbody 970 is the latest technology in body composition analysis. The InBody970 is equipped with state-of-the-art 3MHz technology and a new ergonomic design to better suit patients with different conditions and medical specialities than ever before.
The InBody body composition analyser can be used on anyone from children from the age of 3 to athletes to morbidly obese (up to 250kg) to the elderly.
InBody technology is different from that used in other BIA devices:
- It can directly measure and can measure the body segmentally.
- Is capable of accurately measuring impedance in the trunk.
- The InBody 970 uses multiple frequencies for analysis.
- Does not use empirical estimations in calculating values.
- InBody can evaluate a wide range of body types, from extremely obese, to elderly, to athletic.
The InBody test takes 90 seconds during the testing phase. The entire process takes approximately 10 to 15 minutes.

Inbody tests are recommended to be carried out in the morning. However if this isn’t possible you should aim to do the test on an empty stomach (at least 2 hours after a meal). You should also avoid testing immediately after exercising.
You will receive a printout of the results as soon as the test is over. You can also bring up the results on your phone using the InBody app.
No. The app will inform you what the results mean. The GP appointment is for those who would like further interpretation of your results or advice on next steps based on the results.
The InBody follow-up appointment with a GP is 30 minutes long.
The test can be repeated every 2-4 weeks to check for changes in body composition as a result of training, rehabilitation, weight loss or other body changes.
People with artificial electrical implants such as a defibrillator or pacemaker are not recommended to take an InBody Test. The electrical currents of the InBody may disrupt the functionality of such devices.
Women who are on their menstrual cycle or are pregnant are not recommended to test as they may not obtain accurate results due to subtle changes in their hydration and body water levels.
