Dr Kehinde Sunmboye

Dr Kehinde Sunmboye is a Consultant Rheumatologist at University Hospitals of Leicester and an Honorary Associate Professor in Medical Education at Leicester Medical School. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and holds a Master’s degree in Medical Education with distinction.

He leads the regional vasculitis service and provides specialist care for complex autoimmune and connective tissue diseases, including inflammatory arthritis and systemic inflammatory conditions. He also leads the specialist commissioning service at UHL, supporting rheumatologists regionally, helping patients access the right care without unnecessary delay.

Dr Sunmboye is actively involved in clinical research and is a National Institute for Health and Care Research Co-Director for the East Midlands, overseeing research leadership and delivery across the region. He is a principal investigator on several non-commercial and commercial studies.

He is widely recognised for his commitment to patient-centred care and medical education and has received multiple awards for excellence in teaching and patient experience.
