How the ISAC Test Works
1. Pre-Assessment Requirement
If a child has not been seen previously at The Health Suite for allergy concerns, an initial paediatric allergy consultation is required before ISAC can be booked. This ensures:
- The test is appropriate
- The child’s symptoms warrant molecular testing
- Skin prick testing or ALEX² might be more suitable
2. Blood Sample Collection
A simple blood test is performed by our clinical team.
3. Laboratory Microarray Analysis
ISAC uses molecular microarray technology to measure specific IgE to allergen components, offering detailed insights into:
- Food allergens
- Pollens
- Pets
- Dust mites
- Moulds
- Venoms
- Cross-reactive Proteins
4. Comprehensive Report
The clinician receives a full molecular-level profile, including:
- IgE binding to individual allergen proteins
- Identification of cross-reactivity patterns
- Risk-associated components
- CCD markers
5. Optional Interpretation Consultation
An optional review appointment can be arranged if families wish to discuss results and develop a management plan.

ISAC Molecular Allergy Test
Included in the ISAC Molecular Allergy Test
– Includes phlebotomy and full laboratory analysis
– No consultation included
A clinician review is required before booking directly for any child.
-
Food Sensitivity Tests
Food sensitivity tests identify foods that may trigger bloating, fatigue, skin or digestive symptoms, helping you tailor your diet for better health.
-
Paediatric Allergy Service
Paediatric allergy testing and same-day plans to find your child’s triggers and give clear advice for care and management.
-
ALEX² Molecular Allergy Test
ALEX² molecular allergy blood testing screens up to 300 allergens from one blood sample, giving detailed insights into specific IgE sensitisation for personalised care.
-
Allergy and Intolerance Test
Allergy and intolerance testing uses blood tests to find foods and other triggers behind symptoms, so you can get personalised advice and care.
Common Q&A about ISAC Molecular Allergy Testing
Our FAQ section is designed to address common questions you may have, from how our treatments work to what you can expect during and after your session.
Our team is always available to provide additional support if you need more personalised guidance, ensuring that you feel informed and confident every step of the way.
No. ISAC complements existing tests by offering deep molecular detail when needed.
Yes, for children who have not previously been reviewed at The Health Suite. Adults may require a clinical review depending on the case.
No. Interpretation can be booked separately.
Around 2–3 weeks.
ISAC indicates which proteins are associated with higher-risk reactions, but it cannot predict exact severity.
Yes. ISAC is particularly effective at mapping cross-reactivity between allergens.
No. Antihistamines do not influence blood-based IgE testing.
Some clinicians prefer ISAC for its focused molecular components, especially when a very specific profile is needed.
Yes. It includes pollens, pets, dust mites, moulds, and more.
Yes, as long as a clinician confirms it is appropriate.
Symptom checker
If you are experiencing any of these symptoms, please book an appointment with us. Symptoms can vary from person to person and from condition to condition.A proper diagnosis can only be made through a thorough medical examination.
Our clinicians will carry out a full assessment to ensure an accurate diagnosis and appropriate care.
Does your child or adult have multiple or unclear allergy reactions?
ISAC is ideal when symptoms do not match standard skin prick or ALEX² tests, helping identify hidden allergen triggers at the molecular level.
Are skin rashes, hives, or eczema unexplained by standard testing?
Complex or persistent skin reactions can be clarified by molecular IgE profiling with ISAC for precise allergen identification.
Do digestive or respiratory symptoms occur after unknown exposures?
ISAC detects IgE sensitisation to foods, pollens, pets, dust, moulds, and venoms to pinpoint elusive allergy triggers.
Have previous tests failed to explain cross-reactivity?
ISAC maps molecular-level patterns to detect cross-reactive allergens, such as birch pollen with certain fruits, for tailored management.
Is your child at risk of severe reactions or anaphylaxis with unknown triggers?
ISAC helps identify high-risk allergen proteins, providing detailed insights to guide avoidance and safety strategies.
Do you want a more detailed allergy profile beyond standard tests?
ISAC complements skin prick and ALEX² testing, offering focused molecular analysis for complex, multi-sensitised patients.
