No, a GP referral is not essential. Parents can book directly with us. However, with your consent, we will share results and treatment plans with your child’s GP so that care remains joined-up.
At the first visit, your child will see a Consultant Paediatric Endocrinologist for a detailed medical and lifestyle assessment. This includes measurements, body composition analysis, and blood tests where needed. Together, we’ll create a personalised care plan tailored to your child and family.
We support children and young people up to 18 years old who are above a healthy weight or experiencing weight-related health problems such as high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes risk, or sleep difficulties.
We believe children do best when families are involved. Our service provides advice and practical strategies for parents and siblings too, helping the whole household build healthier routines together.
These medications may be considered in young people who meet strict eligibility criteria and where lifestyle changes alone are not enough. They are only prescribed under close supervision by our Consultant Paediatric Endocrinologist and always alongside a full lifestyle programme.
Most families join our one-year weight management package, which includes quarterly in-person appointments with the Consultant and Dietician, plus three online dietetic reviews. We also offer additional check-ins if needed.
