How the Service Works

1. Book your appointment – You will see one of our trained nurses for up to 3 moles or lesions.
   – Please note: Some lesions cannot be reviewed via this service, for example, cysts, lipomas, genital or mucosal lesions
   – This service is available for both adults and children.
2. Image capture – During your appointment, the nurse will:
   – Complete a short questionnaire about each lesion and you will complete a consent form.
   – Pictures of the skin lesions are taken
3. Secure upload – The images are uploaded to your patient record and sent to our dermatologist for review.
4. Dermatologist review – Within 24–48 hours, our dermatologist will assess your images and provide a report together with your photographs.

Your Report and Next Steps

Your report will usually fall into one of four categories:

1. Benign / reassurance – Most lesions will be harmless.
2. Monitoring – Recommendation to repeat images in 3 months.
3. Surgical procedure – If removal is advisable.
4. Face-to-face appointment required – If images are unclear or a diagnosis cannot be made remotely.
   – In this case, the cost of your face-to-face dermatology consultation will be reduced, and you will only pay the difference for a face to face dermatology appointment.
