Mr Sam Sangal
Mr Sangal is a senior Consultant Laparoscopic General and Colorectal Surgeon, at the University Hospitals of Leicester with over 12 years experience as a consultant.
His special areas of practice are mainly colorectal (Bowel) cancer surgery, management of inflammatory bowel diseases like crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, benign coloproctology to treat haemorrhoids (piles), anal fistulas, anal fissure and pilonidal sinus. He also specialises in various bowel disorders like chronic constipation, rectal prolapse, and faecal incontinence.
Mr Sangal also specialises in keyhole gall bladder surgery and surgical treatment of various forms of hernias including groin, incisional, parastomal and ventral hernias. He also offers various procedures for the removal of skin lesions and in growing toenail surgery.
Mr Sangal is a member of the clinical senate at the University Hospitals of Leicester. He has held various senior managerial roles including clinical lead and head of surgery and colorectal surgery in Leicester. He has a keen interest in teaching and training of medical students and junior surgeons.
