Shanthi Subbanna is a highly experienced Speech and Language Therapist with over 25 years of expertise, holding qualifications in HPC and PCSLT. With more than 20 years of experience in autism assessments within multidisciplinary settings, Shanthi has worked closely with paediatricians, psychiatrists, clinical and educational psychologists, and occupational therapists to provide comprehensive care.

Over the past six years, Shanthi has further expanded her clinical skills to include autism assessments within the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS). She is highly skilled in evaluating autism in young individuals presenting with mental health concerns and is proficient in conducting ADOS assessments across Modules 1, 2, 3, and 4, supporting children and young people from birth to 19 years.

As a seasoned practitioner, Shanthi excels in building rapport with children and young people, tailoring her approach to each individual’s unique needs. She has also served as a Lead Clinician in autism assessments, delivering insightful conclusions to families and guiding them toward appropriate local services.

Shanthi is deeply passionate about helping families and young people recognise and embrace their neurodiversity, believing that thorough and compassionate autism assessments play a pivotal role in this journey. Outside her professional life, she enjoys gardening, walking, yoga, and mindfulness, reflecting her commitment to holistic wellbeing.
