Skin tags, moles and other benign lesions are common, and most are completely harmless. They can catch on clothing or jewellery, become irritated, or simply be something you’d rather not see. Because we’re a doctor-led clinic, the first step is always the same: we make sure it’s safe to treat before we treat it.

Assessment comes first — always

Many skin tags and benign lesions can be removed straightforwardly. Moles and changing lesions are different: a lesion should never be removed for cosmetic reasons if it has features that need investigating. This is the single most important difference between a medical clinic and a salon, and we won’t cut that corner.

Please get a lesion checked promptly if it is changing in size, shape or colour, bleeding, crusting, itching, painful, or simply looks different from your other moles.
